Screening II goes with a BANG
We are absolutely delighted to announce that our Part Two Indonesia Documentary Screening event was an incredible success!
The evening was filled with excitement and entertainment, starting with Herbert captivating our sold-out audience with some amazing stories of his adventures. The Documentary screening that followed was a truly unforgettable experience.
Deaf individuals face a myriad of obstacles and barriers when trying to access mental health support, especially in developing nations. However, with Herbert's extensive expertise and experience as a Deaf mental health professional, he has made a dramatic and profound impact on the communities he has served. Now retired, Herbert spent six months working with local organizations to train staff, establish projects, and advocate for the inclusion of Deaf individuals in disaster recovery plans. Remark! compiled some of the most fascinating parts of his mission, along with stories from Deaf individuals in Indonesia, into an incredible 45-minute documentary entitled “Deaf Indonesia: Herbert's Mission".
The evening ended with Herbert showcasing some of the amazing clothing and items he collected during his time in Indonesia. The audience was completely captivated by his experiences and had the opportunity to ask their burning questions during the Q&A session.
We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of our audience, and we managed to raise over £2,000 across both screening events! This incredible support will enable Remark! Community to continue their outstanding work, and we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Herbert, without whom this would not have been possible. Once again, a huge thank you to all who attended and supported our event!
