A Band of Merry Members - Youth Club Archery Trip

This week we took the Youth Club members to have a go at archery at Aquarius Archery Club in Finchley. Firstly, a word for the instructors who were all superb. Special thanks to Kevin who organised the session and who turned up to lead it the day after his wife delivered twins. A fair excuse to cancel so we really appreciate the extra effort made so that the session was able to go ahead!

The group were all fantastic and the improvement throughout the session was astounding. By the end, the number of arrows lodged in the yellow (if you don’t know archery, that’s the bullseye (If you REALLY don’t know archery, that’s the bit in the middle of the target…)) was amazing!

Special mentions go to Zaara and Amaan who took to it like ducks to water and to Grace whose improvement throughout the session went from struggling to let go of the string at the beginning to hitting a bullseye at the end. Also, to the whole second group who did so well that the instructors moved the targets further away for the final round!

All this took place outside on one of the hottest days of the year and the focus and concentration that everybody showed was a testament to Remark! Community and with some of the skill on display, Robin Hood and his Merry Men might just have some rivals to watch out for!
