Camden Lunch Club Discovers Engineering Marvels at The Brunel Museum
Camden Lunch Club went on a lovely historic trip to The Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe this sunny April. We started off with a lovely meal in a local pub before heading over to the Museum. We watched a fantastic presentation on the huge task of building the tunnel, which was the first of its kind, and the inventions it took to manage such a groundbreaking feat of engineering.
“A groundbreaking feat of engineering”
Having been sold to the railways, the tunnel is now used for the very train that we took to get to the Museum! We learned loads from this hidden gem and all the members came out full of new information on the topic. We then got to look around the original shaft that linked the tunnel to the surface. This trip is one of many that we go on with our Lunch Clubs. If you’re Deaf and over 55 years old come and join us for the next trip!
